It's ours.

Today, me and few other people I'm in school with had to take part in a short interview/discussion about our thoughts on Welsh lessons and Welsh qualifications.

It was nothing out of the ordinary. I got the same feeling of belonging I always get when I think of being able to speak/understand (fairly well..) Welsh. I've always loved the language and it's sound. It's like music to me. I've never really thought about why this is or anything but today, one of my friends, Aled, said something that I keep thinking about.

It was the kind of moment where he made an almost throw-away comment, not thinking anything of it, but that really resonated with me. I can't stop thinking about it, or why it's so perfect. I think the woman had just asked us why we had taken Welsh or something along those lines. A few of us had given some answers and she was just about to move on when Aled just quietly said:

"When I speak Welsh, it makes me proud. It's part of our country. It's ours."

The last two words of it literally gave me goosebumps. He just.. I've never met anyone who understands how passionate I am about being Welsh or the language or how important it is to me and in 3 sentences, he just had it.
